What Boards Get Wrong About the Space Economy
Most board-level conversations about space start in the wrong place: the rocket. The value is somewhere else entirely.

Satellite Navigation, GNSS & Space Engineering Expert
Eduardo Tapias is a satellite navigation and GNSS expert, aerospace engineer and founder of GNSS Academy, with more than 25 years of experience across Europe's space industry. His career combines deep technical expertise in Galileo and EGNOS with engineering leadership, consulting and the training of the next generation of space professionals.
Eduardo has worked across the design, algorithms, performance and integrity of European satellite navigation systems, with experience involving organisations including GMV, Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space. This gives him first-hand insight into how complex navigation technologies move from research and engineering into reliable operational systems.
In 2019, he founded GNSS Academy to connect specialist technical education with the skills and opportunities required by the space industry. Its programmes have trained hundreds of engineers internationally, combining satellite navigation, practical engineering and industry-focused career development.
As a speaker and trainer, Eduardo makes sophisticated technologies accessible without losing technical depth. He can address GNSS and PNT, Galileo and EGNOS, the future of satellite navigation, engineering skills, autonomous systems and the growing demand for specialised talent across the space economy.
For corporate, technical and educational audiences, Eduardo brings the perspective of an engineer, entrepreneur and experienced trainer: connecting the technologies behind modern navigation with the people, skills and businesses needed to turn them into real-world capability.
From transport and smartphones to autonomous systems and critical infrastructure, Eduardo reveals how satellite navigation works behind the scenes and why GNSS and PNT have become strategically important technologies.
Drawing on decades of engineering experience, Eduardo explores how Europe's navigation capabilities have evolved, the technological challenges behind reliable positioning and where the next generation of PNT innovation is heading.
Space growth depends not only on technology, but on people who can turn complex engineering into operational capability. Eduardo explores the skills, specialisms and industry realities shaping the next generation of space professionals.
A practical session that connects the fundamentals of satellite navigation with real engineering applications, helping technical audiences understand positioning, navigation and timing systems and their growing relevance across industries.
An interactive session for organisations and technical teams exploring the skills, specialist knowledge and talent development required to build effective engineering capability for the evolving space sector.
